Today I visited the IoT Tech Day 2016 in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. Since we are interested in LoRa and LoRaWAN implementations at work, the main goal for today was to participate in the LoRa workshop, provided by The Things Network.
At 11:40 am the workshop kicked off. A nice step by step walkthrough was provided together with a LoRa spiced Arduino Uno and a Base shield with Groove sensors.
It was nice to get some hands-on with LoRa and LoRaWAN. And free hardware as a bonus is always nice. And getting to know Node Red besides Node.js was a nice add-on too.
After the workshop, I did around about the different stands for free goodies and ended up with an extra Orange Pi (Chinese remake of a Raspberry Pi), a book about “Internet of Things” and a drink bottle. The Orange Pi will be a dedicated Minecraft server soon.
I will be there if IoT Tech Day 2017 will be organized.
